I have visited Bountiful Breads many times but not this week, my colleague and fellow pastry aficionado Mark 😎did and sent me some pictures.
This bakery cafe is located in a busy shopping center close by the Northway (I-87) near where the NY Thruway turns from I-90 to I-87 and heads south towards NYC. Try to get there whenever I pass through the Albany area.
While I have eaten lunch there a few times when visiting customers at nearby SUNY Albany, usually just stop here for baked goods on my way to and from customers in Albany and/or Vermont. They have a wide variety of muffins, cookies and pastries as well as decent coffee. My favorites are the scones and cookies, both of which are BIG and tasty. Especially like the butterscotch and peanut butter chocolate chip scones and cinnamon chip scones, though they don't always have them when I get there later in the afternoon. But usually can find some flavor I like a lot. 😉
My colleague Mark is partial to sticky bun type products so he got the maple walnut bun and Rocky Mountain cake, which is like a cross between a cinnamon bun and a muffin. Enjoy!
