Visited one of my regular stops in the Boston area this week, LaCascia's Bakery & Deli. There's two sides of this long established family business, the deli/prepared food section and (of course) the bakery!
On this trip, bought one of my customer's and co-worker's favorites - Blueberry Coffee Cake for our team meeting in the office. Also got one of my more recent faves, the large peanut butter cookies. It's soft like a traditional chocolate chip, which are also excellent here. On previous trips have gotten raspberry and blueberry twist pastries, the turnovers and whoopie pies, all very good.
This past year, have sampled items from the deli section. Have gotten the arancini (rice balls), chicken parm sandwich, but my favorite are the Strombolis. They are prepared to order so allow 15-20 minutes from time of order and are huge and tasty, see picture below -and that's after sampling a piece! 😋Usually get the Chicken Parm variety but the trip before this one got the Steak & Cheese, a nod to my Philly heritage.
