Rockland Bakery Nanuet NY - an all time favorite!

Had the opportunity both Sunday night and Monday on the way to and from Massachusetts to visit a bakery I've been going to for almost 20 years - Rockland Bakery. It's located right off the Palisades Parkway just south of I-287 on the west side of the Tappan Zee (now Mario Cuomo) bridge.

Rockland is a HUGE bakery with a bigger wholesale than retail business, they distribute their products from NY to CT, NJ, PA and DE. Since their factory runs almost 24/7 the retail store is open until 10PM every day of the week! This allowed me to stop Sunday night around 8PM to pick up a cake for my customer meeting Monday morning in MA. With the large volume they do, nothing is older than a few hours and everything is extremely fresh!

Another spectacular aspect of the bakery is you can walk into the factory in the back and pick your bread literally hot out of the ovens!! 😃 There is a tremendous assortment of bread and rolls/bagels in the back that you pick out yourself with conveniently provided plastic gloves and paper bags.

You pay for your bread in the large retail store section near the front door. As with the bread, there is a big assortment of cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, donuts -almost every category of baked goods. If you can't find something you like then.......... 😉

On the way back from MA was able to share this favorite destination with two of my colleagues visiting from Colorado and Toronto!

They even have a deli where you can order prepared hot and cold foods, have lunch, etc. My buddy Joe from NY and I often meet there for lunch and to get goodies for our customers while we exchange work equipment.
