Was back in Pittsburgh again this week, visiting customers and attending my daughter's graduation!!😃 Visited another good bakery located on a busy corner in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood. The bakery focuses on European style breads and has a good variety of different grains and shapes. For example, the "country seed" bread was offered in 3 different shapes/styles - boule, deli loaf and pan loaf, which my daughter opted for. She reports it was very good, and so was the baguette we shared on the ride home!
They also have a decent assortment of other pastries including cookies, rugelach, scones, pies, bars, cupcakes and full size cakes. Sampled a few different cookie varieties - chocolate chip, peanut butter and ginger molasses chew and really enjoyed all of them. Also tried the cinnamon currant scone which was good but not as much as the cookies. 😉
The pies and cakes looked great as well so will have to try them on a future trip to Pittsburgh. Allegro even had a small cheese case and also sells different varieties of tomato sauce, but think I'll leave that to the "regular food eaters" out there! 😛
